The Fearless King

This fearless king was photographed while he was walking fearlessly along the road full of visitors in GIR National Park,Gujarat India. The confidence in the eyes was unmatchable and a slight turn of the head sent shivers down the spines of onlookers. But he walked past unmindful of the guests in his natural kingdom

I was wondering what gave him so much of confidence even when he is surrounded by cruel human beings. The answer was his long history of evolution as a top predator in the ecological scheme of things. The Lions have been the top predators for millions of years with no threat of any bigger animal predating upon them. This has given them the confidence to walk fearlessly among crowds of brainy homosapiens.

The Divine Light

The mountains have always been associated with mysteries, mystics and divine. They have an ethereal aura surrounding them, which refreshes the human spirit of its everyday fatigue. These two photographs captured in Himalayan mountains, are a testimony to the Divinity of these Godscapes.

The first one was clicked from Shikaridevi, situated in Mandi district of Himachal Pradesh in Himalayas. Shikaridevi temple at an altitude of about 3000 meters is known for the divine powers of goddess Shikarimata and so is the view of the majestic Himalayas from this place,as if the Goddess has sprinkled the mountains with divine light.

The second photograph which is another signature of God has been taken at Sundernagar in Himachal Pradesh. When the showers of rain bring all the dust and smoke down to the ground, the majestic view of the  snow capped peaks of Dhauladhars is a treat for the eyes. As the sun rays pierce the dark clouds to reach on snow clad mountains, the majestic Dhauladhar Himalayas radiate the Divine light to mesmerise the mankind.

Mani Mahesh

Manimahesh is the abode of Lord Shiva.Situated at an altitude of approximately 4100 meters in Chamba district of Himachal Pradesh, the manimahesh lake is the main attraction during the months of August and September, for lakhs of devotees come here to take a dip in the holy waters of this lake. Manimahesh Yatra comprises of an ardous trek of 12 kms from a place called Hadsar near Bharmour in District Chamba. Officially the manimahesh yatra starts with Krishan Janmashtami in August and ends on Radhashtmi.During the official period of Yatra,Heli taxi services are also availaible. From the lake one can have a clear view of Manimahesh Kailash if one is lucky enough and weather is clear. When the sun rises behind the mountains the view at the lake is just mesmerising and heavenly.

Manimahesh is generally associated with a Mani(gemstone) which people often claim to have seen shining like a star at night in Manimahesh Kailash mountain. Another thing people desire to witness at Manimahesh is the sun rising behind the holy mountain and its reflection in the waters of the lake. This view is just unique, mesmerising and divine.
